Robert Nurisso — Manager

Robert T. Nurisso is the third generation of Nurissos in the plumbing industry. He graduated from Santa Clara University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Accounting Finance. He obtained his Masters in Business Administration in 1969 from the University of San Francisco. From January 1965 to June 1969, he completed his plumbing Apprenticeship Program. In July 1966, he completed Office Cadets School and was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the California National Guard.

In 1968, Robert became Broadway’s Controller. In 1972, he became a 25% owner and in 1975, the President. In 1982, Robert purchased the interest of his father and uncle, and redesigned the management and ownership team. Sales revenue increased from $5 million to $35 million over the next five years when the firm merged with Scott Company in 1986. Scott Co. grew from $80 million to $275 million over the next 17 years until the shutdown in September 2003.

Broadway Mechanical-Contractors, Inc. started up in October 2003 and in the next five years grew to a two revenue volume of $38 million. The company is still owned by Robert’s children with his oldest son, Fred, as its President and CEO. Robert still estimates and provides, at times his views or experiences.
